TL-1 Table Lamp

TL-1 is a sculptural table lamp by Montreal design studio Juba. It combines a cellulose acetate reflector, cast mineral-composite base, and a high-polished, precision-machined aluminum stem. Conceived as an indirect, reflected light source, it produces a soft, low-glare wash of light that can be tuned with a tactile dimming knob.

Part sculpture, part architectural element, it brings quiet visual warmth to a room. The cellulose acetate reflector carries light in layered gradients, revealing subtle variation that shifts with angle and dimming.

The reflector begins as layered cellulose acetate, a plant-derived material made from wood pulp and cotton. Shaped by heat into its final form, the material’s internal patterning stretches and compresses, leaving natural variation in tone, density, and depth. No two reflectors are exactly alike.
