FLOOR OPERATIONS MANAGER

FOIL is looking for a highly organized and proactive Floor Operations Manager to support the daily operations of our café, gallery, retail, and event spaces.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing hospitality, operations, logistics, and team coordination in a creative environment. The successful candidate will help ensure that FOIL remains welcoming, organized, and operationally efficient while supporting our growing programming and event calendar.

Responsibilities

Daily Operations

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the café, gallery, boutique, and event spaces.
  • Ensure the venue remains clean, organized, functional, and aligned with FOIL standards.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and restocking.
  • Maintain operational systems and tools, including POS platforms.
  • Coordinate operational logistics related to exhibitions, installations, events, and venue activations.
  • Complete occasional supply runs and operational errands as needed.

Team Coordination

  • Create and manage staff schedules.
  • Support onboarding and training of team members.
  • Communicate operational updates and ensure information is shared clearly across the team.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional work environment.

Events & Programming

  • Support the planning and execution of events, exhibitions, and private rentals.
  • Coordinate staffing and operational requirements for activations.
  • Act as the primary on-site operational contact during events and openings.
  • Communicate with clients, vendors, artists, and partners when required.

Guest Experience

  • Maintain high hospitality standards across all FOIL experiences.
  • Support visitors, customers, and event guests.
  • Resolve operational issues and guest concerns professionally.
  • Help create a welcoming and memorable experience for everyone who visits the space.

Qualifications

  • Fluency in French and English.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable using POS systems, spreadsheets, scheduling software, and digital tools.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience in hospitality, events, retail, operations, or venue management is considered an asset.

Schedule

  • Full-time position (35 hours per week).
  • Typical schedule is weekdays during business hours.
